CHERISTAR MINIATURE PINSCHERS presents:

About CHERISTAR

Cheristar started a while back. I remember feeding show Collies in my mother's backyard when I was about 5 years old. Then I showed a Miniature Poodle in what was then called Children's Handling Class. I have owned, loved, trained and shown numerous breeds including St. Bernards, Poodles, Shihtzus, Yorkshire Terriers (CHERIETTE), Old English Sheepdogs, American Staffordshire Terriers, English Bulldogs, Rottweillers and Miniature Pinschers. I have always been involved  with animals. I have shown American Saddlebred horses in Saddle Seat Equitation and Three-gaited competition finishing 6th in World CH. competition when I was younger. I started out in 4-H with quarter horses, rode western and english (hunter/jumper and saddleseat). I have also owned a pet alligator, numerous cats, pot-bellied pigs and birds. Currently, I am owned by Miniature Pinschers, 3 dear Rottweillers, 2 cats, 2 pot-bellied pigs and of course, I can't forget my beloved blue-front Amazon Parrot, Fred. But, I believe it is the thrill of watching, riding and showing a high-stepping Three-Gaited American Saddlebred that continues to drive my interest and love for the Miniature Pinscher breed. And doing something you love is good for the soul! Here are some of my past and present "loves." Although some have crossed 'over the bridge' each and every one of them remain dear in my heart.  And this is the foundation of CHERISTAR:

Blue-Front Amazon Parrot

"Fred", my crazy Blue-Front Amazon parrot is
19 years old and in my life since he was 4 months old
Just had him 'sexed' and discover he is a girl!!!
He travels to all the shows with me: the most socialized
Parrot you would ever want to meet.  But like all my animals, he has 'mommyitis! Unfortunately,
Fred has been asked not to attend dog shows anymore.
I believe it has something to do with the Sporting dogs
and his big mouth. But he still enjoys them from a
distance!
Such a character!

Cheriette's TomTom, CD

Earning CD at 7 month of age!

Cheriette's TomTom, CD was breeder,owner-handled to his Companion Dog degree at 7 months of age. I believe he is the youngest Yorkshire Terrier to earn this title. He was such an intelligent and responsive dog and he enjoyed the exercises. Of course, he was a 'singleton' puppy and had lots of love and attention from the day he was born.
